Ours is a community where neighbors truly know one another—a place that still hosts large gatherings several times a year and maintains a unique sense of identity and belonging. Located in the heart of San Francisco, Forest Hill retains the feel and tranquility of a small town.
The Clubhouse is one of the finest examples of Arts and Crafts–style architecture, featuring a Great Room with a soaring beamed ceiling, a charming mezzanine, beautifully detailed original woodwork, original light fixtures with mica shades, and select pieces of original furniture.
Built in 1919 as the gathering place for the newly established Forest Hill neighborhood, this historic landmark is an exceptional work by acclaimed architect Bernard Maybeck, best known for his design of San Francisco’s Palace of Fine Arts.
The Forest Hill Garden and Social Club, founded in 1931 by eleven women of Forest Hill, is dedicated to fostering good neighborliness through community service, cultural enrichment, support for the Forest Hill Association’s beautification efforts, and engaging social activities.
The Club is open to all members of the Forest Hill Association, and we warmly welcome guests and neighbors new to our community. We hope your visit to our website is both informative and visually enjoyable.
